Prasad hails from a small town - Ghatanji in
Maharashtra. He was born in the year 1973, in a family of music loving
educationists.
His initial training in music was under the guidance of
eminent Gurus D.V Panke, Smt. Suman Choudhari and Ustad Abdul Rashid Khan.
He received his Master’s degree of Indian classical vocal music in 1997
Amravti University.

He was a scholar of the Music Research
Academy of Kolkata and since 1998 he is under the tutelage of Ustad
Rashid Khan of Rampur Sahaswan Gharana - His sonorous and mellifluous
voice took the audiences by storm wherever he sang. He worked in Kala
Academy Goa, as a Guru. His dedication and hard work has brought him many
awards.
Currently he has around 16-20 disciples from
Russia. He has sung for the Marathi movie “Thaang” by renowned director
Amol Palekar.
