Avaneendra Sheolikar India (Imdadkhani Gharana)
|
Born in 1969 in the family of four
generations Sitarists Avaneendra Sheolikar is born with classical music
in his system. Avaneendra had his initial training under his father Shri
Sudhakar Rambhau Sheolikar.
Later he joined Illustrious Pandit
Bimalendu Mukherjee a doyan of Imdadkhani Gharana of Sitar, under his
tutelage he learned the intricacies of Sitar and his inborn talent grew
leaps and bounds.

Avaneendra's Education
He made his debut at the
age of 7 years in Bhilai and has never looked back ever since. The
special feature of his performance is subtle nuances of ragas based on `Gayaki
style´ and `Layakari´.
At the age of 39 years
Avaneendra is a matured artist with a deep sense of emotions in his
music. Besides numerous performances in India and abroad, Avaneendra has
Masters degree in Music from Khairagarh university and he was ranked 1st
in the year 1993.

For Avaneendra classical music is not merely a
profession or a medium of expression, for him as an artist its much much
beyond... Call it melancholy or spirituality ultimately it is what a
listener experiences and feels, that is all that matters!

AWARDS & PERFORMANCES

At the tender age of 10 years Avaneendra bagged
first prize in Art India music competition at Bombay.

Bagged 1st price in All India Music
competition organised by Abhinav Kala Samaj, Indore in 1981.
-
Avaneendra has awarded prestigious talent
search scholarship of Ministry of H.R.D,Govt. of India.

Bagged yet another 1st prize in All India
Radio Music competition at 17 years of age.

He was conferred with the title of `SURMANI´
by Sur-Singer Samsad, Mumbai in 1992.

Bhatkhande Lalit Kala Shikshan Sansthan,
Raipur honored him by `Sur Ratna´in the year 1994.

Avaneendra participated in `Arambha
Festival´ under the auspices of Ustad Allauddin Khan Academy when he was
only 16 years of age.

Performed in prestigious `Tansen Samaroh´,
Gwalior in the year 1985.

Represented Madhya Pradesh in ´Yuva Sangeet
Mohotsav´of South Central Zone Cultural Centre at Solapur and Nagpur in
1987 and 1988 respectively.

Participated in SPIC MACAY (Society for
promotion of Indian Classical Music & Culture amongst youth) at Bhopal.

Participated in `Swami Haridas Sangeet
Samellan´held at Bombay in December´92.

`Sankat Mochan´ festival Varanasi in
1994.

Performed in Mumbai under the auspices of
NCPA (National Centre for Performing Arts) in 1995.

International Sahaj-Yoga Sangeet Samaroh,
Ganapatipule( Ratnagiri), Pune, Delhi and blessed by Her Holiness Shrimataji
Nirmala Devi.
