Brass Musical Instrument - The BugleWhat is the Bugle? The Bugle is primarily a simple Brass Musical Instrument that does not have any valves. However, if we are to look at the modern versions of the Bugle, they are usually valved. In addition, the Bugle does not have a device attached to it to alter the pitch and hence, any pitch control or alterations have to be done by the player. The notes played using the Bugle are limited to those that form a part of the harmonic series. Other instruments similar to the Bugle include the Bugle Horn, Pless Horn and the Post Horn. Looking Back If we were to look back at the history of the Bugle, we would find that this instrument took its form based on other similar instruments (usually in the shape of an animal horn) which were used during olden times for communication, etc. The term "Bugle-Call" was quite well known, referring to the use of this instrument for communication within the military. Look & Feel Most earliest versions of the Bugle were shaped in the form of a coil, single, double and triple. Some of the most common references to this instrument were made using terms such as the Roman Bugle. Bugle Performance Bugle Players The name of Harry Corbin is well known when we talk about Bugle Players. Do you provide training in Bugle? Write to us contact@musicalescapades.com |
