Showcase Your Talent in Music

Sanchita Choudhury - Hindustani Classical (Art Music), Performing Artist, Rourkela

I am a music loving person and a  performing artist. I hail from a music loving family. My parents have been my primary source of inspiration and encouragement. My younger sister is an amazing vocalist too. I started learning music from my parents since my childhood days (at the age of 2 years).

I have undergone thorough and disciplined training in Hindustani Classical (Art Music) from Pt. Sunil Neogi in Kirana Gharana and later Pt. Amiyoranjan Bandopaddhyay in Bishnupuri Gharana.

I have also taken training in light classical, folk (especially Baul) and bhajan. I have performed in different parts of India and have taken part on inter-national and national cultural exchange programmes too. I have been a recognised AIR artist (Bhajan). My forte is my versatility.

Performances & Experiences

I have worked with famous Irish singer Noirin Ni Rian for a documentary film in 2008.

Recently my first music album "Chena Manush" has been released by Genesis Recordings. It is an album on mysticism. There is a flavour of Baul and other Indian folk sub- genres apart from other musical elements, both Western and Oriental. I have been doing research on Ethnomusicology in IIT Kharagpur since 2005. Although professionally I teach in an Engineering college, my passion is singing, writing and composing music.

Lately I have sung a song for a music album to be released very soon
