Dr. Karkare's magnificent style of vilambit khayal elongation mixes with traditional 'Bandishes' set in medium or fast tempo.
This is then succeeded by a elite 'tarana' or 'trivat' set in fast or very fast tempo that explores the raag completely, keeping the audience totally in the world of laya and swara.
His each swara enlightens the richness of that raag and his powerful sparkling-wavy taans reflect the solidity of the raag.

Performances Dr. Karkare Ishwar Chandra is a regular performer of Hindustani classical music and is performing for the last 30 years.

Holding almost three saptaks (octaves), he provides his audience with the feeling of the depth of an ocean (kharja swaras) and on the other hand, touches the pinnacle's peak while singing the taara saptak swara.

Awards Conferred Dr. Karkare has been awarded, the topmost award given to any Gwalior-ite, i.e. the GWALIOR GAURAV PURASKAR & Godrej Sangeet Samman.
