Ayan Sengupta - Hindustani Classical (Instrumental Music) Sitar Player, Kolkata

At present I am taking my lessons from Pt. Kushal Das and Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty. I have been learning Sitar since 6 years of age. Earlier I had learned to Pt. Manilal Nag.

Apart from classical music, I had passed the ISC examination in 2009 (commerce) scoring 81% marks. Now I am studying at Rabindra Bharthi University (B.A HONS Instrumental Music), Kolkata.

MY ACHIEVEMENTS A junior scholarship holder from the govt. of INDIA (CCRT) since 2003. Stood 1st in state youth festival in 2005 and stood 2nd in 10th National Youth Festival in Hyderabad in 2005. Stood 1st in West Bengal RAJYA SANGEET ACADEMY competition in 2006. Stood 1st in ALL INDIA RADIO MUSIC COMPETITION in 2007. Stood 1st in the Dover lane Music Competition in 2007 in kolkata. Recipient of the RAVI KOPPIKAR MEMORIAL AWARD from ITC SRA, MUMBAI in 2008.

PERFORMANCES (in short)

I have performed in cities like Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Hyderabad to name a few.
In 2008 I have performed in the RAMKRISHNA MATH, in BELUR.
I have also performed in the periodical programmed by Dover lane Music Conference in 2008.
Also taken part in the National Festival “UNITY IN DIVERSITY” by CCRT in New Delhi.
